Why spend lots of money on store-bought costume when dressing up as Alex Russo of "Wizards of Waverly Place" is so easy! The great thing about dressing up as Alex Russo is that most of the items needed for this Wizards of Waverly Place Halloween costume can already be found around home.
"The Wizards of Waverly Place" typically don't wear wizard robes unless they are attending classes at WizTech School for wizards. They usually just wear normal teenager clothing which is what makes them fit in with the other teenagers.
Alex Russo (Selena Gomez) is known for her funky, vibrant and slightly rocker-punk fashion style, so a boring outfit just won't cut it! She wears a lot of bold colors and prints and the items in her outfits don't always match but they still work somehow. To get the Alex Russo look, here's what is needed to make this costume:

- The Hair: Alex Russo has a long, dark full set of hair. She has been known to wear her hair in numerous styles. Most typically she wears it super straight, or with bouncy curls. So either a flat iron or curling iron will do for this look. Since her hair is close to black, a black wig may be useful for girls who do not have such dark hair.
- The Top: Find a longer tunic-style shirt as this is a common item found in Alex's wardrobe. A striped tunic or a graphic-tee will work well. Bold colors and black and white are colors found in Alex's wardrobe. But remember, no pink! Alex has a rocker edge and pink just doesn't work.
- The Bottom: Alex often wears a pair of leggings under her tops and tunics. They can be plain black or even a color. Another option is a great pair of skinny jeans.
- The Accessories: A colorful scarf draped around the neck is popular choice worn by Alex, as it works as a piece of jewelry. Or instead of a scarf, some chunky necklaces and bracelets will work too. Alex has also been seen wearing funky hats so this is something to be considered as well.
- The Shoes: For the shoes, Alex likes to wear a pair of short boots over her leggings or skinny jeans. Another option is a pair of sneakers or high-tops.
- The Wand: To finish off the outfit all that is needed is a wand. A toy wand can be picked up at any Halloween costume supplies store for very little money.
